Dr. Doerig received his zoology and biochemistry degree in Switzerland at the University of Lausanne. Christian is currently Director of Research and head of the Department of Microbiology in Monash University, Australia. The research programme of his team is aimed at defining the role of protein phosphorylation in the life cycle of the human malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum.
