Eduardo Seiti Gomes Mizubuti is graduated in Agronomy and a master’s degree in plant pathology Universidade Federal de Viçosa. PhD in plant pathology from Cornell University, with postdoc in Evolutionary Genetics at the Institute area Cavanilles of evolutionary biology and biodiversity of the Universidad de Valencia, Spain. Associate Professor of the Department of plant pathology at the Universidade Federal de Viçosa and adviser in the graduate program in plant pathology of the UFV. He is currently dean of research and graduate studies at the Universidade Federal de Viçosa. He develops research in the area of population biology of phytopathogens including evolutionary genetic aspects of populations, molecular epidemiology and applications of these areas in the integrated management of diseases. The main patossistemas of interest are: Phytophthora infestans, Alternaria spp. and Ralstonia solanacearum in potato and tomato plants; and Microcyclus ulei x rubber trees.
