As highlighted in the last sections, the establishment of an international partnership between expertise from relevant universities and research institutes is significant to improve the ideal of One Health approach for promoting health for humans, but also has a particular interest in training high skilled professionals that can work in order to improve the human health under this approach. Considering practical purposes, it is clear that international partnerships are interesting for both sides that are related: the exchange of experiences and expertise can only contribute with the scientific development of specific study areas. Considering a common goal such as human health, a specific cooperation between reference institutes and universities from distinct countries is plenty justified. However, the specific roles and responsibilities of each part of a proposed partnership must be properly addressed, in order to allow a good relationship between all researchers, institutes and universities involved, and to result in a proper training of students and development of common research area. Only considering such aspects that a real cooperation and development can be achieved. As an initial proposal, and in general terms and goals, the cooperation must contain the following aspects:
- Regular meetings between scientific groups that work on specific research themes, in order to improve cooperation and exchange of ideas;
- Regular transit of researchers between the involved institutes, in order to promote rapid courses, participation in scientific meetings, and specific meetings in order to develop a specific study area;
- Regular transit of students between the involved institutes, in order to promote temporary training and exchange of experiences;
- Consider the development of a common and equivalent curriculum between the universities in strategic professionals courses (such as veterinary medicine), what would allow a proper transit between students at undergraduate and graduate levels, allowing the possibility of dual degrees (cotutela training) between the institutes involved.
